The F-111 saw action in several wars and conflicts including the Vietnam war. The Raven, the precursur to the F-14, revelutionized aircraft with swing-wing technology. It is a very rugged all-weather strike-aircraft, and still is in active service today. The first flight of the Raven was late in 1964, and had a rough time. The F-111B Naval Raven had severe weight and preformance problems. The F-111A also had similar problems. They were both canceled in 1967 and 1968. Although not in service the Raven was continually developed, trying to find answers to the seemingly endless problems, and so developed as an experimental aircraft. After much trial and error, the Raven was reinstated into the air force but not so much as a fighter but a strike-craft. This Raven came out with superior ECM systems and is held high as an electronic warfare platform. A strike-bomber was presented, it had a better engine and eight tech points instead of its previous normal six.
